The work (and play) of training  your puppy starts before your bundle of joy even arrives. I can help  you arrange your  home to set your pup up for success. Potty training and bonding with you are the two most important things for your puppy in your first few weeks as an inter-species family.  You will get a shopping list and extensive instruction on how to help your puppy make a smooth transition into your family.

Concepts such as "master," "obedience," and "command" do not fit with most people's ideas of your relationship wth a member of your family or with the latest scientific research about canine cognition. Yet, Rover cannot run amok! I will help you teach your dog basic "commands" (also known as "cues") and to respect your role as the Leader(s)  in your household. I use positive reinforcement techniques to make learning fun for your dog. This can be done privately or in semi-private groups of up to three human-dog pairs. Customized packages are also available.

Correcting problem behaviors starts with a big-picture look at the family constellation, as well as  the assumptions humans have about their canine family members.

If you have a psychiatric condition, such as PTSD, Anxiety, or Panic Disorder, I can evaluate your dog to see if they have the temperament to serve as your Psychiatric Service Dog. If your pup is suitable, I can assist you with all aspects of training your dog to perform therapeutic interventions for these conditions.  I can also assist with putting the  paperwork in place for public access and travel with your service dog.
